A native of Livingston, Montana, Jesse Russell has taught at Catholic and secular colleges and universities for the past nine years. He currently makes a living teaching, firefighting, and writing for a variety of popular journals and magazines, including The Remnant, OnePeterFive, Crisis, and Front Porch Republic among others. His academic work has been published in scholarly philosophical and literary journals, and he has an essay titled, "The Contradictions in Catholic Neoconservatism," forthcoming in The Conservative Movement: A Critical Appraisal (DeKalb, IL: Northern Illinois UP). He enjoys long distance running and spending time with his family.
